Spokane, Washington was home to no less than 21 Feed Stores in 1937. Fred Aslin and Jack Finch had a dream to own their own local feed store and offer the best service possible.

With starting wages at $21.00 per day, Fred and Jack saved their money and eventually purchased the store from their then boss, James Keith, for a cool $2,500.00

World War II brought the need for service and sacrifice. Fred and Jack knew one of them needed to serve while the other stayed behind to mind the store.

A flip of a coin decided. Jack enlisted and Fred watched the home front.

Post-wartime brought setbacks and change:

• 1953 - After expanding into a new location on east Sprague Ave., a devastating fire forced Fred and Jack to rebuild

• 1968 - Fred and Jack parted ways and sold their interests in Aslin-Finch

The Aslin-Finch future opened up with more retail expansion and a new wholesale division:

• 1984 - Fritz and Jeanie Wolff (Alvin J. Wolff Realty) purchased Aslin-Finch Company

• 1986 - Aslin-Finch added a new retail location in North Spokane

• 1987 - Aslin-Finch developed their wholesale division to serve other feed and pet food stores

• 1990 - New Aslin-Finch retail location built in the Spokane Valley

• 1992 - Aslin-Finch took over manufacturing and distribution of Darigold Feed Products

• 2004-2006 - Continued retail expansion into North Spokane, Colville, Kettle Falls, and Montana Feed & Farm locations

• 2008 - Newest Aslin-Finch retail location moved from 5618 E. Sprague to 5605 E. Sprague
